Today, in the province of Buenos Aires, if a person wants to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, they must translate that intention into reserving a shift online. An online pre-registration form is available on the website of the provincial government, which was implemented to order the application of the vaccine. Until this Monday, they had signed up 1,335,056 Buenos Aires. Almost four out of 10 pre-registered are over 60 years.
In the City of Buenos Aires there is still no similar system. But that circumstance could change this week, once a flight to Russia is completed to bring the third shipment of Sputnik V. The trip was to take place on Sunday but was postponed. And during this Monday there was still a definition from Moscow to coordinate the flight schedule.
When those doses reach the country, in the City a “turnera” will be launched, a website to request an appointment to receive the vaccine, as explained by a spokesman for the Ministry of Health to Clarion. In the event that the flight takes place in the next few hours, Minister Fernán Quirós will report on this new system on Wednesday, at the press conference in which he gives details of the city’s health situation.
At first the website will be enabled only for health personnel, which today has priority. Between the public and private sectors, they are around 140,000 people. Of these, 24,300 were vaccinated with the first dose and the second application is currently being completed. Sputnik V has two components and its vaccination schedule includes two doses that are given with a minimum interval of 21 days.

“In the City the scheme established by the Nation is followed. First, health workers, then over 70, and then over 60. We estimate that on February 8 the entire health population will be vaccinated, “the source told Clarion. Only then and through the same website Shifts will begin for adults over 70. People who fill out the online form will finish the process with a precise date and place where to go to receive Sputnik V.
For members of the health system who have not yet been immunized and for those over 70, who represent the age group with the highest mortality, they will be enabled out-of-hospital posts. Four points will concentrate the greatest number of shifts: “They are superpostas and will be in Parque Roca, the stadiums of San Lorenzo and River and the Recoleta Cultural Center,” they specified. Then there will be another 20 smaller units located in the fields of Huracán, Boca, Ferro and Racing (its Buenos Aires headquarters, in Villa del Parque), among other clubs. Foundations located in the City will also give up their spaces and vaccinations will be applied in historic buildings, such as the House of the Historian, which was originally the house and the publishing house of the Ángel de Estrada family, in the Monserrat neighborhood.
In this first expansion of the vaccination plan in the City, only a small portion over 60 will have access to Sputnik V. They will be those who reside in nursing homes in Buenos Aires. There the vaccine will be applied to both staff and adults over 60 and 70.

In recent weeks, people who have relatives in nursing homes have heard the same question: your mother or your father or your aunt or your grandfather, as appropriate to each case, will the Sputnik V vaccine be applied?
The consultation was formulated by administrators of the nursing homes who were looking for an authorization or a refusal to that application. For some relatives the response was quick but for others it was not. In others, the question raised concerns, because in some cases the consultation came when the ANMAT had not yet authorized its use in men and women over 60 years of age.
But on Wednesday of last week the institution approved its administration in the main population at risk and the logistics to vaccinate those who expressed their will began to organize. Sources from the health area said that, once the immunization of this group is finished, it will be passed to those over 60, who are third in the national ranking of priority. For them and them in the City no date yet because no doses available yet.
