Tuesday a Moscow court sentenced opposition leader Alexei Navalny to almost three years in a prison camp. According to the court, Navalnyin should have reported to his probation officer while being handled in Germany for the assassination attempt.

Politicians in Finland and around the world considered the verdict political. Navalnyi himself took the matter calmly.

On Wednesday the spring term of parliament was opened with the opening of the parliament, which was held with exceptional expenses due to the coronavirus epidemic. Only Anu Vehviläinen (center), re-elected Speaker of Parliament, was listening to the speech of the President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö.

In his speech, Niinistö expressed his concern about both the international situation and the state of the Finnish debate. “When one accelerates each other, the path of malicious speech or contempt leads to anger and, at worst, violence,” Niinistö warned.

3) Murder charge

On Friday the prosecutor filed charges of murder against three 16-year-old boys at the time of the crime in December in Koskela.

According to police, the suspects had bullied their peers for several weeks before the death. Police have called bullying sadistic violence, which suspects have also videotaped.

Earlier this week, police announced they had launched a preliminary investigation into possible failures by authorities, such as the school and child welfare, to protect the victim from bullying.
