He noted that on February 26, a validation (trial) batch of 15 thousand ampoules was released. They are now being tested for effectiveness at the Russian Gamaleya Institute.
At the same time, from March 30-31, it is already planned to start production of 500 thousand doses of the drug every month.
According to Cherednichenko, the republic’s authorities plan to vaccinate their citizens first of all, after which it will be possible to start exporting the vaccine.
Earlier that day, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) announced plans to manufacture Sputnik V in Italy.
Sputnik V is the first coronavirus vaccine in Russia and the world. She was registered by the Russian Ministry of Health in August 2020.
To date, the drug has already been registered in more than 40 countries, including it was allowed to be used in the EU countries – Hungary and Slovakia. The drug is one of the top three coronavirus vaccines in the world in terms of the number of approvals received by government regulators.
According to the results of the third phase of clinical trials of the drug, published in February by the medical journal The Lancet, its effectiveness was 91.6% after analyzing data from more than 19 thousand volunteers. For severe cases of COVID-19 – 100%.
