Medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense transferred to a planned mode of operation

By decision of the headquarters of the Russian Ministry of Defense, military medical institutions were transferred to a planned mode of operation, the press service of the department reported on Tuesday, March 2.

“Medical personnel of medical organizations of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on a voluntary basis underwent immunoprophylaxis (vaccination), or have a high titer of antibodies to new coronavirus infection,” it was reported.

It is noted that at the moment the main efforts in the fight against coronavirus in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are aimed at continuing the voluntary vaccination of the military. More than 286 thousand servicemen have already been vaccinated with the first component of the Sputnik V vaccine.

The workload of specialized medical centers for patients with COVID-19, in which both the military and the civilian population receive inpatient treatment, dropped to 40%.

At the same time, about 420 military personnel are in inpatient treatment, and the number of patients recovering daily exceeds the number of infected.

Also, in preparation for the Victory Parade, planned work continues on the voluntary vaccination of participants in the parade crews. At present, more than 14 thousand people have been vaccinated with the first component, more than 5 thousand military personnel received the second component of the vaccine.

“All measures for the immunization of military personnel from the foot and mechanized columns will be completed by March 25 this year,” the department stressed.

In February, it was reported that the military medics of the Russian peacekeeping contingent completed the vaccination of the Russian military at the Joint Russian-Turkish Center, which is deployed on the territory of Azerbaijan.
