Daniel Arroyo promised financial aid in case restrictions are increased

In the prelude to the restrictions that the Government plans to intensify towards the end of the week to stop the second wave of coronavirus, the Minister of Social Development of the Nation, Daniel Arroyo, promised that there will be financial aid for those who need it most.

The truth is that, four days after the end of the term stipulated by Alberto Fernández for the validity of the restrictive measures which was announced on April 14, infections continue to increase, so the possibility that not only restrictions are not relaxed, but that they are hardened is becoming more and more powerful.

In that sense, Arroyo said that the Government’s decision is to accompany those who are injured at work due to the impossibility of leaving their homes: “There is Alberto Fernández’s commitment to pour resources into financial aid“.

And he continued: “Clearly, if there is a greater restriction, less economic activity and people who must stay in their homes, we are going to dump the corresponding economic resources. The Government is determined to accompany“.

On the other hand, he warned that the main cause that “poverty is increasing in Argentina” is the “increase in food price“and” not the coronavirus. ”

Meanwhile, he said that this Tuesday the National Council of Employment, Productivity and the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wage will meet to raise the minimum wage, which represents “a breakthrough in this context.” The current value is 21,600 pesos.

At that meeting, the CGT will request an increase in between 35% and 40% and its payment in no more than two tranches, although they assured that “the closest possibility is that an income is finally agreed upon a few points below.”

Finally, Arroyo aligned himself with the Government’s position regarding the conflict that exists with the City of Buenos Aires due to the presence of classes in Buenos Aires schools: “Not everything goes, you have to prioritize life. You have to lower the circulation. I am an advocate for the school, but it is clear that there are traffic problems. “
