Russian opposition team Alexei Navalny said he was examined in a hospital outside the prison. The 44-year-old underwent an examination in the city of Vladimir, east of Moscow, Navalny captain Leonid Volkov said on Twitter.
“Numerous checks have been taken,” Volkov said. The results were not disclosed.
Navalny, a prominent opposition figure who barely escaped an assassination attempt last year, is serving a sentence of several years in a prison outside Moscow.

He had recently complained of severe pain in his back and paralysis in his arms and legs.
Navalny went on a hunger strike about three weeks ago to protest against the lack of medical care.
In a letter published by Russian media, independent doctors, including Navalny’s personal doctor, appealed to him to end his hunger strike immediately.
Doctors said they evaluated the results of the examination. And they say that if he continues not to eat, it will cause more damage to his health and in the worst case it will lead to death.
