The Russian national team turned out to be stronger than the American team in the match of the first game day of the Junior World Championship (YWCHM), which takes place in the USA. Video available at Youtube-channel Russia Hockey.
The Russian team managed to turn the tide of the meeting. Domestic hockey players won back from the score 1: 5. They put the match into overtime and prevailed over their opponents.
As part of the national team, goals were scored by Matvey Michkov and Ivan Miroshnichenko (two goals each), Danila Yurov, Vsevolod Gaidamak and Nikita Chibirkov (one goal each).
The Russian team plays in the same group as the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany and the USA. The tournament will end on May 7.
