Experts told Izvestia that the actions of Minsk in the situation with the emergency landing of the Ryanair plane the day before are in accordance with international law.
According to political scientist Maksim Zharov, Belarus will not suffer harsh punishment.
“I think that now the reaction of the USA and Poland will follow. Conflict at the level of rhetoric between the administration is not ruled out [президента Белоруссии Александра] Lukashenka is with these countries. But there will be no street performances in Belarus, because they have completely stopped, ”he said.
In turn, Kirill Koktysh, associate professor of the Department of Political Theory of MGIMO, emphasizes that Minsk did not violate international law by its actions.
According to him, the detained founder of the NEXTA Telegram channel recognized as extremist in Belarus, Roman Protasevich, is a bearer of valuable information, since he has information about the financing and organization of the protests.
“In this regard, Belarus received a very valuable staff, Lukashenka won a great trump card,” the expert explains.
