Russian Federation and China will present a roadmap for the creation of a lunar station in June

Roscosmos and the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) will present a roadmap for the creation of the International Lunar Science Station (ISS) at the GLEX Global Space Exploration Conference in St. Petersburg in June this year.

This was reported on Thursday, May 27, by TASS with reference to Sergei Savelyev, Deputy Director General of the State Corporation for International Cooperation.

“On June 16 we are planning to hold a joint event of the state corporation Roscosmos and CNSA, dedicated to the presentation of the roadmap for the creation of the MNLS,” Saveliev said.

On April 23, CNSA announced the implementation, together with Roscosmos, of large-scale cooperation on the creation of an international research lunar base on the Moon, as stated by the head of CNSA Wu Yanhua in his speech at the Chinese-Russian presentation of the joint project in Nanjing.

The global conference on space exploration was originally planned in St. Petersburg on June 9-11, 2020, but due to the pandemic it was postponed to this year. The forum is held annually in different countries. This year it will be held in St. Petersburg from 14 to 18 June.

At the end of December 2020, it was reported that a special directorate was created at Roscosmos, which prepares missions to the moon.

In the summer of the same year, the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation patented a flight to the Moon without the use of a super-heavy rocket. The launches will be carried out using a reusable manned spacecraft.

In October 2021, Russia plans to send an automatic station “Luna-25” to the Moon, the device will become the first domestic device in modern Russia on a natural satellite of the Earth. The main start date is October 1, the reserve one is October 30.
