On May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia was celebrated, commemorating May 17, 1990, when the WHO removed homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses. The official day was established to encourage actions that denounce discrimination against homosexuals, bisexuals and transsexuals, and that their human rights are guaranteed. Even so, 70 countries still criminalize homosexuality.
