Every June 17, the World Day Against Desertification and Drought is commemorated, whose purpose is to raise awareness among the population and authorities about caring for the environment and prevent green areas from becoming desert spaces. This year Costa Rica hosted the celebration, leading a high-level forum to promote land restoration efforts. Other countries like Argentina and Spain also suffer from desertification and are fighting to combat it. .
