China is the largest producer and consumer of plastic on the planet. For years, this material has ended up in poorly managed landfills that pollute the environment and the oceans. But since January 2020, a series of new laws aim to reduce pollution from this material, progressively eliminating single-use plastics and replacing them with new materials.
