The national leader of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD),

Jesus Zambrano, invited citizens not to go out tomorrow to vote in the popular consultation, as he described it as an act of “farce.”

“The so-called popular consultation is a farce, one more than we are already used to suffering. Citizens do not deserve to be deceived. We are living a economic, social and health crisis catastrophic, and President Andrés Manuel López Obrador insists on his obsessions and whims. He needs to test ground for his next consultation in 2022, to try to extend his term for another six-year term, “he said.

Likewise, the PRD member mentioned that López Obrador is a “demagogue” who invites the population to vote, when he himself indicated that he will not vote.

“In addition (the President) says that if the popular consultation does not have 40 percent participation, it will be the fault of the National Electoral Institute (INE) and his adversaries. The reality is that the population is more concerned with getting a job, supporting their family and getting medicines for their sick relatives. For the most part, you are clearly not thinking of going out to vote for supposedly for e“Prosecute former presidents,” he said.

He recalled that, according to the INE, the consultation will cost more than 528 million pesos and requires a participation of at least 40 percent of the nominal listing of voters, that is, 38 million Mexicans.

Finally, Zambrano called on the population “not to fall into the sham of the Federal Government. Thousands of people are dying for it rise in infections due to covid-19 and there are millions of families in extreme poverty, money is spent on a useless consultation ”, he concluded.
