With the purpose of reactivate the tourism sector, this coming August 9, presidents of the Mexican Association of Travel Agencies of the Republic, will meet with Miguel Torruco Marques, head of the Federal Tourism Secretariat to deliver proposals of the strategies that are planned for this objective.
This was reported Salvador Navarrete Zorrilla, President of the Association of Travel Agencies in the State of Hidalgo, who pointed out that during this meeting each of the presidents will present some proposals to be taken into account and will have as a point of relevance the traditional cuisines in Mexico.
“Rural tourism is an activity in which the visitor’s experience is related to products generally linked to nature activities, agriculture, ways of life, culture, traditions and customs, but it has not been given the necessary push.
“It must be remembered that Hidalgo won the first national place in traditional cuisines, which makes the state a novel product, so it is to imagine the great experience that it will be for the visitor to take him to know how the zacahuil is prepared in Huejutla, or the barbecue, “he said.
In this scenario, he proposed make alliances with the Huasteca Potosina, which has consolidated its adventure tourism and that a synergy be generated so that traditional cooks in rural tourism are included in packages.
“The idea is to awaken rural tourism as such, the coexistence of culture, customs and traditions with an emphasis on gastronomy, which are traditional cuisines to reactivate national tourism,” he said.
And it is that he exposed as an example that, when visitors arrive at the Magic Town of Real de Monte, They visit a restaurant, taste a pastry or some other dish, but they do not live the experience of how they make pastes, nor do they get involved with the communities or the activities that are carried out, so they do not match with the roots and their customs of the same.
“Other proposals from some states are about security, there are some who are going to propose the realization of national fairs of tourist products, different from the Tianguis Turístico de Pueblos Mágicos.
“We need a tourist expo in some way, so that in different places we can offer travel agencies to the general public tourist products,” he explained.
This is how they hope that this meeting will be fruitful to reactivate tourism within the state and that these proposals are taken into account so that they are part of the national tourism agenda and that they are supported by the agency in the state.
