Russian air defenses in Syria destroyed Israeli F-16 missiles

Russian air defense systems “Buk-M2E”, which are in service with the Syrian troops, destroyed two missiles fired by F-16 fighters of the Israeli Air Force. It is reported by RIA News with reference to the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties (CPVS) in Syria, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit.

According to him, Israeli tactical fighters, without entering Syrian airspace, attacked targets in Damascus province. The attack was repelled using Russian-made complexes.

On July 20, the Russian Pantsir-S and Buk-M2 air defense systems, which are in service with the Syrian troops, partially repelled a missile strike from Israeli F-16s. Seven missiles were destroyed, and one reached the target and damaged the building of a research center located in the village of Sfira, Aleppo province.
