Twitch will have new prices for subs in Brazil starting this Tuesday (27.Jul.2021). Prices have been reduced because of a global initiative that readjusts prices in regions of the world. Regular registration was R$22.99 and now costs R$7.90, a value 65% lower than the original.
The platform justifies that with lower values, it is possible that more creators profit from entries and increase the number of entries. “Lower entry prices are helping breeders and viewers form bombastic communities”, appears in note.
The result was seen in countries such as Mexico and Turkey, where prices were adjusted earlier, on May 20, 2021.
Check out the new values:
- Tier 1: starts to cost BRL 7.90 (it was BRL 22.90)
- Tier 2: starts to cost BRL 15.99 (it was BRL 44.99)
- Tier 3: starts to cost BRL 39.99 (it was BRL 111.99)
In addition to the reduction, the company announced an income protection program for its streamers. The initiative ensures that their revenue will not decline in the first few months after the move.
Twitch is a live streaming service that focuses on live video game streaming, including e-sports competition broadcasts.
