Who is Reda Gharslawi? .. In charge of running the work of the Tunisian Ministry of Interior

Reda Gharslawi is a first-class general police governor, and worked as a former advisor to the President of the Republic in the National Security Department.

Gharslawi was assigned to the General Administration of the Head of State Security and Official Figures in 1996, where he assumed his duties at the rank of Police Governor.

Throughout his career, he held many positions, even assuming the position of Director of Administration. He has participated in many tasks inside and outside Tunisia in the core of his specialization, which is “inquiries and counter-terrorism” and “logistical support”.

The assignment of Gharslawi came among the exceptional measures taken by the Tunisian President, on Sunday evening, to freeze the work of Parliament, lift the immunity of deputies, and relieve Prime Minister Hisham Al-Mashishi from his post.

President Ibrahim El-Bertaji, Minister of National Defense, and Hasna Benslimane, Minister to the Head of Government in charge of the public service and Acting Minister of Justice, also dismissed.

This came against the backdrop of protests in Tunisia denouncing the situation at all levels, as a result of the policies of the Brotherhood’s Ennahda movement.

Saeed’s decisions came in response to calls on the street calling for the activation of Article 80 of the country’s constitution, which authorizes the president to “take exceptional measures in the event of an imminent danger.”
