Finland is looking for an opening victory in the World Cup.
Finland played a strong opening round against the Russian Olympic team at the Women’s Ice Hockey World Championships on Wednesday in Calgary, Canada. Finland will lead the match 3–0 after the first set Susanna Tapanin, Petra Nieminen and Jenniina Nylundin with paints.
Russia just didn’t get to test in the opening round Anni Keisalan control error. The shots were recorded for Finland 10–4. Instead, Russia, as in its previous matches, changed the goalkeeper again in the middle of the match. After Finland’s third goal Valeria Merkuševa got to make room Nadezhda Morozovalle.
Finland lost their first two games to Canada and the United States. The Russian Olympic team had time to play three matches before facing Finland: losses also to Canada and the United States, and victory over Switzerland.
Finland will face Switzerland in its final match in the final match on Thursday at 9 p.m.
There are two unplayed matches from the Russia match.
