The Government ordered exempt from mandatory quarantine of 14 days, established as part of the measures to contain the advance of the coronavirus, to those people who return to the country and who have traveled abroad for work or commercial reasons.
According to Administrative Decision 846/2021, published this Friday in the Official Gazette, with the signatures of the Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero, and the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, the exception is “for the sole purpose of the resumption of said activities (commercial or labor) in Argentine territory “.
The benefit reaches both citizens residing in the country and non-resident aliens that they were authorized to enter the country by the National Directorate of Migration “to carry out an essential labor or commercial activity for which they were summoned.”
However, to access the exception, the following requirements must be met:
to) Accredit complete vaccination scheme, at least 21 days in advance of entering the country. People vaccinated in national territory will record this in the sworn statement required by the Migration Directorate, while those who have been vaccinated abroad will prove it with the supporting documentation that they will attach to the aforementioned sworn statement.
b) In addition to the negative PCR test at origin performed within 72 hours prior to shipment and the antigen test required upon entering the country, they must be performed 2 PCR tests, one on the fifth day and the other on the tenth day, computed from the completion of the first test, the results of which must be negative. The cost of the tests will be in charge of the person who enters the country.
c) Develop their work and / or commercial activities by taking extreme observance of preventive measures and be careful, for a period of 10 days counted from the sample collection of the negative PCR test at origin, carried out within 72 hours prior to shipment.
d) Enter in the affidavit the labor and / or commercial reason for the trip in question and the details of the employer, commercial counterpart or reference of the commercial and / or labor activity in question, attaching the certification and / or supporting documentation relevant.
So far, people returning to the country had to submit to the conditions set out in DNU 260/20, which required travelers to maintain mandatory isolation for 14 days.
They even required information on their itinerary, declare their address in the country and undergo a medical examination that is as less invasive as possible to “determine the potential risk of contagion and the preventive actions to be taken that must be followed, without exception.”
The regulations empowered the authorities in general to file a criminal complaint in the event of non-compliance with isolation.
The Ministry of Health reported 151 deaths and 6,847 positive cases of coronavirus on Thursday and, with these data, raised the death toll to 111,117 and 5,161,926 those infected since the start of the pandemic.
According to official information, 2,952 people are admitted to intensive care units, with a percentage of occupation of adult beds of 47% in the country and 48.4% in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA).
Of the 5,161,926 infected, 4,838,745 have already received medical discharge, while 212,064 cases remain active.
The Ministry also indicated that 104,832 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours and, since the beginning of the outbreak, there have been 21,718,507 diagnostic tests for this disease.
