The Russian-Belarusian strategic maneuvers “West-2021” are held from 10 to 16 September. About 200 thousand military personnel, more than 80 aircraft and helicopters, up to 760 units of military equipment, as well as up to 15 ships take part in them.
Earlier, the former head of the department, Pavel Klimkin, said that the beginning exercises “West-2021” demonstrate Russia’s desire to encircle Ukraine from three sides and called on Kiev to ask NATO for help. He also expressed the opinion that Russia is preparing to “swallow” Belarus.
