Tennis player Botic van de Zandschulp has qualified for the eighth finals of the US Open. He easily beat the Argentinian Facundo Bagnis in New York 3-6, 6-0, 6-2, 6-2.
The 25-year-old Van de Zandschulp is now virtually in 89th place in the world ranking. He started the US Open at number 117.
Reaching the top 100 is an important milestone for tennis players. A place in the top 100 tennis players entitles you to direct placement for the grand slam tournaments. Since August 2019, the Netherlands has no longer been represented in the men’s top 100. Robin Haase fell back in the world rankings more than two years ago. (ANP)
