Palmeiras defeated Grêmio by 3-1, this Sunday afternoon (31) in Porto Alegre, and assumed the vice-leadership of the Brazilian Championship with 52 points (seven from the leader Atlético-MG, who was surpassed by 1-0 by the Flamengo last Saturday).

Tricolor already reached the 15th setback in 26 matches in the competition, remaining in second place with 26 points. The result was not very well accepted by the Grêmio fans, who, after the final whistle, invaded the pitch and caused a lot of confusion, including breaking the VAR’s cabin (video referee).
With the ball rolling, Palmeiras started much better. However, it was Grêmio that opened the scoring, at 10 minutes, when Douglas Costa crossed perfectly for Diego Souza to score.
But the advantage was short-lived, as Verdão turned the score around in the first half thanks to two goals from midfielder Raphael Veiga, one of them in a penalty kick. In the final stage, Palmeiras reached the third, already in additions, with Breno Lopes.
Grêmio returns to the field on Wednesday (3) against the leader Atlético-MG. Four days later, Palmeiras makes a derby against Santos.
Triumph of the Voice
Who also triumphed on Sunday was Ceará, which, even with a player less most of the time, beat Fluminense by 1-0 at Castelão thanks to a penalty kick by attacking midfielder Vina in the 4th minute.

With the victory, Vozão rose to 11th position with 36 points. Fluminense remains stationed in 8th position with 39.
