European countries will be stealing fuel from each other in an attempt to keep their populations from freezing up this winter. These are the forecasts of the agency’s analysts Bloomberg…
According to them, gas storage facilities in the states of the Old World are 71 percent full, while normally this figure should be 20 percent more.
Analysts suggest that in the event of the promised frost, the governments of the countries will decide to ban the export of gas in order to save it for the needs of their own citizens. The introduction of such a measure has already been announced by the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic – he promised to ban the export of electricity, “so that people have something to keep warm.” Similar discussions are underway in Norway, which is the largest energy exporter in Europe.
According to Bloomberg, Germany will have the hardest part this winter, which buys 90 percent of all energy and is dependent on fuel imports. In this regard, analysts suggest that Berlin will try to buy up supplies that were intended for less wealthy European countries, forgetting about European solidarity.
Earlier, journalist Christoph Herwartz said about the need to unite the countries of the European Union to “confront” the dominant gas supplier in the market, that is, Russia, against the background of rising energy prices in Europe. According to him, the EU states can join forces and start jointly purchasing gas.
