Space Jeff Bezos ’space airline Blue Origin released plans for a private space station

The Orbital Reef station is scheduled to reach an altitude of 500 kilometers after 2025.

The company describes the Orbital Reef station as a “multi-purpose business park”. The station is intended to support weightlessness or more specifically microgravity research as well as industry.

The 830 cubic meter station can accommodate up to 10 people at a time. In terms of size, it is slightly smaller than the International Space Station (ISS).

The station is scheduled to launch to a final altitude of 500 kilometers after the middle of this decade.

Orbital Reef will be built in collaboration with Sierra Space. The project also involves, among others, Arizona State University and Boeing, known for its aircraft.

According to the companies, the station will have a place for experienced space players, technology players, states that do not have their own space program, the media, travel companies, entrepreneurs and investors.

In addition to its own space station, Blue Origin’s other plans include a New Glenn rocket carrying people and cargo, as well as a lunar landing device. Admittedly, the company lost its Six Agreement to its rival SpaceX and is taking the U.S. space administration NASA to court over the decision.
