First modification:
Haiti remains on a general strike due to the lack of food and fuel, the economic crisis, the pandemic, political instability and above all because of insecurity. The criminal gangs have gained ground and have the Caribbean country against the wall, further aggravating the already complex conditions of the inhabitants. In this edition of El Debate we analyze the delicate security situation in this country.
The spiral of crisis, needs, violence and uncertainty seem to be confined to this country, especially after the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse on July 7, which destabilized the country politically, followed by an earthquake that left thousands of deaths and now, the insecurity and gangs – an evil already known to Haitians – became the daily terror.
What to do with Haiti? What is the way out of these multiple crisis fronts? Are we facing a time bomb? We analyze the situation in the Caribbean country with the help of our guests:
– Sabine Manigat, sociologist, political scientist and researcher at the Quisqueya University of Haiti.
– Louis Jean-Pierre Loriston, Doctor of Political Science and Public Administration.
– And in the France 24 study we are accompanied by Manuel Camilo González, a political scientist and internationalist, an expert on Latin American issues, political parties and history.
