His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, confirmed that the commemoration of “Martyr’s Day” at this time each year comes as an expression of the warmth and pride of the people of the Emirates for the heroism of our righteous martyrs, as they did not spare their lives for the sake of Truth and justice, His Highness pointed out that the people of the Emirates were brought up in the values of loyalty and belonging to their homeland, sacrifice and redemption for the sake of its advancement, and exerted the most precious for its security, stability and territorial integrity.
His Highness said: “On Martyr’s Day, we send a message of peace to the world, while we remember the sacrifices of the people of the Emirates and their pure blood that irrigated the fields of honor in order to achieve peace, stand by the side of truth, support the oppressed, and enhance security, setting the most wonderful examples of redemption, as the values of giving are embodied not on the fronts of fighting. Not only, but also in all fields and sectors of the civil service, through their continuous effort, vigil and hard work, so that the rest of society enjoys health, security and safety.”
His Highness added: “We will not forget our righteous martyrs who answered the call of duty, drawing the determination of our wise leadership, which spares no effort in order for the UAE to proceed in the path of development, growth and prosperity, following the path of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, who He and his brothers, the founding fathers, made immortal efforts to keep the flag of the Emirates unified, everyone scramble to ensure its elevation and glory… On this precious day, we can only renew the covenant to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him” and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and their brothers, Their Highnesses, members of the Supreme Council of the Union, Rulers of the Emirates, that we preserve the sacrifices of the UAE martyrs as an example And a model that we follow in consolidating the foundations of the nation’s pride and dignity, and that the people of the Emirates make all efforts in all fields of work and giving to raise our nation to the highest levels of global competitiveness so that the Emirates remain a title of peace and love.”
His Highness concluded his speech on the occasion of Martyr’s Day, saying: “As we move forward towards fifty new years of progress and development, the UAE and its leadership present the most wonderful examples of loyalty to the martyrs of duty, in honor and reverence for these heroes who sacrificed their lives for the soil of the dear homeland, highly appreciating the sacrifices of the families of the martyrs who will remain a role model and a beacon. We all love the homeland and preserve the reasons that prevented it, its progress and prosperity, and clear evidence of the cohesion of the Emirati society and the support of its people behind its wise leadership, which spares no effort for the sake of the nation’s elevation and the happiness of everyone who lives on its land.”
