The Saudi Al Hilal crowned the AFC Champions League title by defeating South Korea’s Pohang Steelers 2-0 yesterday at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh in the final match.
Nasser Al-Dosari (1) and Malian Moussa Mariga (63) scored the goals of Al Hilal, who regained the title he had won in 2019, and raised his harvest to four titles after 1991 and 2000.
Al Hilal broke up the partnership with the club that won the most continental title with its guest, Pohang, who was crowned in 1997, 1998 and 2009.
Al-Hilal did not face much trouble in front of Pohang, who could not cope with the match in an enthusiastic atmosphere in the stands of King Fahd International Stadium, which was painted blue for the fans of the Saudi team.
Al Hilal thus ensured participation in the Club World Cup, which will be held in the UAE next February, and will be hosted by Abu Dhabi stadiums.
