Experts discussed the actions of the Communist Party against the background of the scandal with Rashkin

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation is a right-wing conservative political force that has nothing to do with left-wing movements. This opinion was expressed by the head of the EISI expert council Gleb Kuznetsov, commenting on the situation with the illegal hunting of the Communist Deputy Valery Rashkin, who was deprived of his parliamentary immunity on November 25.

According to the expert, all over the world left-wing parties support the prohibition of hunting, considering such entertainment “the lot of aristocrats.”

“Now everyone is hearing a hunting scandal with the deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valery Rashkin. If a left-wing European MP illegally kills an elk, he will be immediately kicked out of parliament and the party, since such a pastime runs counter to the ideas of protecting the rights of the working class and fighting the oligarchs. But the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is trying to protect Rashkin, “he pointed out during the round table” Communist Party-2021: personnel and ideological crisis “in the MIA”Russia today“.

In turn, the director of the Institute of the Newest States, Alexei Martynov, noted that representatives of the political forces shield Rashkin, declaring the political motives of the accusation.

Earlier on Thursday, it was decided to strip Rashkin of parliamentary immunity. 345 people voted “for”, 54 “against”, one abstained. The State Duma also agreed to initiate a criminal case against Rashkin.

Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, in turn, stressed that there is no political motive in the Rashkin case. He called a reasonable preventive measure for the deputy in the form of a ban on certain actions.

On October 29, the Committee for Hunting and Fisheries of the Saratov Region filed a complaint with the police against Rashkin on suspicion of illegal hunting. Employees of the committee, together with law enforcement officers, carried out raids near Saratov when they heard shots on the territory of the hunting grounds of the Saratov Regional Society of Hunters and Fishermen.

The inspectors found a car in which there were two people, one of whom was Rashkin, and in the trunk – parts of an elk carcass, knives and an ax.

Only on November 19, Rashkin admitted that he had shot a moose in the Saratov region. According to him, he allegedly confused the animal with a wild boar in conditions of poor visibility, using a thermal imager. Later he said that he did not shy away from interrogations and was ready to testify to the investigation.
