In Focus – French men breaking the taboo on male contraception

First modification:

The responsibility for contraception has long been left to women. But more and more young men seem willing to share or even take on this burden. About 37% of French men between the ages of 18 and 30 would be prepared to use a free male contraceptive pill and 22% would agree to undergo a vasectomy, according to a recent study. However, male contraception remains taboo.

The French medical community shares little information on existing methods, while scientific studies to broaden the spectrum of options are almost non-existent. Reporting by Julia Guggenheim, Armelle Caux, Thibault Jeanpierre, Emerald Maxwell and Wassim Cornet.
