Dr. Yousef Hatini, a lecturer in the Arabic language program at the University College of the United Arab Emirates University, stressed that “the celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language is the annual culmination of a great victory for the Arabic language at the international level, after it was included in the official language programs approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations. The United Nations on the eighteenth of December 1973, and after the same day was designated as the International Day of the Arabic Language by the Executive Council of the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) in 2012.” Hatini pointed out that the Arabic language has features that make it able to keep pace with all technical development. And industrial, through its ability to derive new vocabulary that belongs to the spirit of the times, and effectively expresses the developments that have occurred in our contemporary lives in various fields, and through its ability also to harmonize between its normative rules and modern science, enabling it to be a contemporary language capable of formulating ideas It is a language of scientific research par excellence, especially in the era in which we live in light of rapid technological developments, and in which we need a flexible language capable of development, such as the language of Na, which has a superior ability to derive and generate, which makes it able to contain everything new, and express it efficiently and accurately.
Hetini added that raising the level of the Arabic language is a national, national and humanitarian duty, because this great language constitutes our heritage and religious identity, and we all, individuals and institutions, must contribute to its preservation, and work to issue more laws to protect and fortify the language, referring to the efforts of a state The Emirates teach this language to native speakers, and to non-native speakers, through centers that are interested in spreading Arab culture, centers that teach Arabic to Arabs and foreigners, and through activities, seminars and conferences sponsored by the state, at the level of all Emirates, in this field.
Hatini stressed the tireless efforts made by the UAE University in this field through its teaching, support for research presented by researchers in the Arabic Language Department, and through teaching programs in the Arabic Language Program, and other activities, competitions, events and seminars that seek to support the Arabic language in various fields.
