Honkala won the 54-kilometer ultra run in Italy, the 50-kilometer Intermediate of which was well below the previous SE period.
Ultra runner Noora Honkala broke the 50-kilometer Finnish record in the 54-kilometer ultra run in Sorrento, Italy, says the Finnish Sports Federation (SUL).
SUL announced Honkala’s achievement on Independence Day. Honkala won The Sorrento Positano run for the third time in his career. The time of 3.51.04 is a new women’s record and was the third best performance in the whole competition, including men.
Honkala’s 50-kilometer Intermission 3.37.10 was well below the Finnish record of 3.42.08 in his own name. The previous SE had run last year in Vilnius.
“It was a really good run. The route will have a total ascent of 1,500 meters, ie you can pull the hill up and down it. But I can withstand that acidification quite well, ”Honkala said in a SUL press release.
His name The competition, which took Sorrento to Positano and back, took place on Sunday in a period of heavy rainfall.
“At times, it felt like water was sprayed with a pressure washer. The weather was bad every time we went up the mountain and then came down quite a few waterfalls, ”he said.
“In some of the downhills, there was a little bit of excitement about keeping the shoe on wet roads. But when I saw a few male runners rolling down at a pretty good pace, I thought it would. ”
Honkala will run its next race in early January in Tel Aviv, Israel.
