Russians were taught to recognize ineffective drugs

The medical director of the SberZdorovye service, Vladislav Mohamed Ali, said that testing the effectiveness of drugs sometimes requires clinical trials. However, patients themselves can assess the quality of a medicine using several methods. The specialist taught the Russians how to do this, according to the Prime agency.

To recognize ineffective drugs, the specialist first of all advises to seek help from a qualified doctor. Such a consultation does not require a face-to-face meeting, since you can communicate with representatives of telemedicine services online using a gadget with Internet access.

In addition, Mohamed Ali recommended to independently study clinical trials on the effectiveness of different drugs. The expert advised to look for such materials on specialized sites for doctors – for example, on the PubMed or UpToDate portals. However, the information on these sites is often difficult to understand and requires medical and pharmacological knowledge.

The expert also said that there are various official organizations and patient movements. The doctor advised to contact the All-Russian Union of Patients: in this organization, you can get help from people who have encountered a problem and have found a solution.

Earlier, the doctor warned the Russians about the tricks in the pharmacies. The medic said that the advice of pharmacists should not be trusted more than the advice of a doctor. It is profitable for pharmacy employees to sell more drugs or drugs of higher value that have the same effect.
