The director of Municipal Sports Institute, Yolatl Dioney Cuanal Cerezo, reported that during the covid-19 health contingency they supported economically 300 contact athletes from the branches of boxing, wrestling and karate.
In a press conference, he highlighted that on the instructions of the municipal president, Claudia Rivera Vivanco, various strategies were created to support athletes in the contact sector, due to the fact that the activities were suspended.
In this context, he specified that 300 supporters were added to the sports scholarships that are carried out every year, despite the pandemic.
“The support was divided into two items, which are sports scholarships that consist of the category with financial support of three, two and a thousand pesos and in the case of support to contact athletes, they were given a thousand pesos,” he said the municipal official.
The director of Municipal Sports Institute clarified that in the case of scholarships the financial support is from three to a thousand pesos according to their category and in the case of contact they were a thousand pesos, who had to meet all the requirements that were requested.
He also indicated that in the case of the post covid s programand 20 people attendeds who attended pulmonary rehabilitation at the Complejo Deportivo Sur and at Deportivo La Piedad, only three attended.
Similarly, he commented that so far there is no athlete reported with contagion of the virus, for which he stressed that the numbers are encouraging for sports activities to be carried out.
He recalled that for 20 days the dependency began with the gradual opening of sports spaces, in addition to the sports initiation classes at the Deportivo La Piedad spaces, the North Municipal Aquatic Center, the South Gymnasium, which represents a staggered return with all sanitary measures.
“We will not leave the Eduardo Rivera administration pending”
Yolatl Dioney Cuanal Cerezo stressed that according to the planning, all the actions and maintenance works that are carried out in the different spaces will be delivered, so he seeks not to leave the administration headed by Eduardo Rivera Pérez pending.
“We will close with the deliveries of the spaces that are being rehabilitated and that we began at the beginning of the year, so we will not leave any project open; we will all continue to close them ”, highlighted the director of Sport.
In this context, he explained that in the month of August will deliver all comprehensive rehabilitations that are carried out in the different sports venues, same actions that citizens have requested.
It also indicated that a few days ago the sports space “Las Aves” was delivered, which was rehabilitated in a comprehensive way and is currently working on the sports Hadas, so the synthetic grass, signage, mesh and everything you need to be rehabilitated one hundred percent will be changed.
Face-to-face sports activities are reactivated in July
The municipal official indicated that in July face-to-face activities will be implemented, because it is already allowed, therefore different calls are made in the branches of athletics, swimming and basketball.
Given this, he stressed that physical activation in all housing units and neighborhoods have returned, this with all sanitary measures.
Among the activities are the athletics event on July 17, as well as the swimming cup on June 24 and 25 and the 3 by 3 Circuit tournament with reduced capacity and this will be on July 31 and August 1 .
“The protocols will be very careful, that is why they are invited to exercise because we know that sport is that tool that allows our immune system to be more active and stronger,” said Yolatl Dioney.
