Ministry of Health does not clarify the amount of stored doses

With capitals recording a shortage of vaccines in the last week, the Ministry of Health does not clarify how many vaccines it has received from manufacturers and has not yet delivered to the States.

Questioned by power360, the folder stated that it does not maintain a stock of vaccines against covid-19. The ministry claims that deliveries do not take place as soon as the doses are received because it is necessary to carry out an analysis of the quality and safety of the batches. After this analysis, doses are distributed within 48 hours.

The ministry, however, did not answer how many doses are undergoing the review process at this time. Also did not inform the brand of immunizers. Asked how long the analysis takes to be performed, the folder also did not inform.

Although the ministry says it has no stock, the latest delivery schedule released by the ministry indicates that until July 20, at 2:30 pm, the “total in stock” was 957,274 immunizers. here’s the whole of the document (813 KB).

The application of the 1st dose of the immunizing agent had to be suspended in some capitals. The city halls of Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, for example, announced on Friday (23.jul) the interruption of the immunization campaign against covid-19.

On the occasion, the mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paes (PSD), stated that the return depended on the delivery of vaccines by the Ministry of Health. “This week the Ministry of Health received about 7.5m doses of vaccine (see below) and so far we have no news of when we will receive”, wrote in his profile from Twitter.

It is not possible for this to stand still for a minute. The reason is simple: the longer it takes, the greater the risk of death. There is nothing more important to do right now!
