Moscow postponed the launch date of the taxi tracking system

The Moscow government has notified of the decision to postpone the launch of the tracking system for the taxi operating time of the KIS “ART” from August 1 to August 14 in connection with numerous requests from business. This was announced on Friday, July 30, at the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport.

As noted, the tracking system is completely ready for work: almost 97% of all active taxi drivers working in Moscow and the Moscow region have registered in it, having received digital profiles.

“According to numerous requests from the business, the ART CIS will be launched on August 14, while from August 1, the priority in the distribution of orders will be with registered drivers,” the text of the message published in the Telegram channel of the Moscow department says.

It is separately stipulated that subsidies for the purchase of cars will be provided only to persons registered in the system.

The publication also indicates that the day before, on July 29, the capital’s department of transport received an appeal from the director of the TAMA Association, the Deputy Commission on Transport of the Public Chamber of Moscow, Norayr Bludyan, which contained a request to transfer the CIS ART. The reason for this statement was a number of entrepreneurs who could not submit documents due to being outside the capital.

“Now there is a seasonal decline in travel activity, so many taxi drivers have left the city and are unable to submit documents on time. They ask to give them additional time to submit documents, ”Bludyan’s appeal is quoted.

During the transfer of the activation of the system, the Moscow government, together with law enforcement agencies, intends to check the previously received information from taxi drivers, and, if necessary, contact the applicants and clarify the information.

The metropolitan authorities also held additional consultations with the Association of Carriers and aggregators. The organization expressed solidarity with the statement that the introduction of the tracking system will not affect the market, in particular – the price level and the number of cars.

Earlier, on July 29, the Moscow Department of Transport informed Izvestia that as of the designated date, about 42 thousand drivers who work in the capital were registered in the ART system.

It is noted that with the introduction of a tracking system, taxi companies and aggregators will be able to transfer orders only to those drivers who have a personal identifier.

Taxi drivers started receiving digital profiles and unique identifiers in Moscow at the end of May.

The Department of Transport recalled that taxi cars can park for free around the clock in the parking spaces allocated for them. Their location can be found on the map of the portal parking.mos.ru. In addition, taxis are allowed to travel in dedicated lanes for public transport.
