Cornered by evidence and evidence, a woman confessed before the Misiones Justice that she was the author of the three shots that ended her husband’s life on Friday night last week.
Without giving many details and almost coldly, the woman maintained that she used the .22 caliber revolver that they usually keep in a closet. According to his account, barely Mario Miguel Stasiak (52) arrived at his home, in Colonia Tacuara, near the town of Colonia Alberdi, an argument ensued.
The woman allegedly reproached Stasiak for his delay in returning after ending the sale of vegetables in Posadas. She was convinced that her husband had stopped at the house of a neighbor, with whom he had a parallel relationship, and from whom a son was born.
The relationship between Mario and his wife, Lidia, was not going through the best of times. The bond deteriorated when the woman discovered her husband’s clandestine relationship. The children of the couple told the police that the reproaches and scenes of jealousy were constant because Mario maintained the bond with his youngest son and gave the mother money to support him on a monthly basis.
That night Lidia was aware that Mario had returned from Posadas around 8:00 p.m., but he arrived home almost two and a half hours later. That would have led to a heated discussion, revealed sources linked to the investigation.
Last year Lidia had left the home and made a statement about it in a police exposition, but then she resumed living with her husband. In that presentation he did not talk about gender violence.
For the researchers, the skills that will be incorporated into the file in the coming days will be key. One will determine the trajectory of the three shots, because Stasiak is suspected of having been sitting when he was shot on the left flank of his body.
The children of the couple and the neighbors will also declare, who would provide important information about the relationship between Lidia and Miguel. At the police headquarters they revealed that they knew about the existence of the revolver and that they repeatedly asked their mother to hand it over. They were afraid he would use it.
Stasiak was killed on Friday last week, shortly after arriving at his home. His wife reported that she was in the kitchen when she heard the gunshots and escaped to the front yard when she noticed the presence of a stranger wearing dark clothes. He added that the criminal killed Mario and ransacked two rooms and then escaped with 60,000 pesos.
It didn’t take long for the police to detect cracks in Lidia’s story. Everything began to fall apart when an agent found the victim’s wallet with more than 10,000 pesos, and inside a wood stove a revolver with three pods served in the drum.
The tests carried out on the woman’s hands allowed the discovery of traces of gunpowder and that led the investigating judge of Jardín América to order her arrest. The woman is charged with the crime of qualified homicide for the link, but premeditation could be added if it is proven that she planned the crime.
