‘Dutch people stuck in bus at airport in Kabul’ | Abroad

In Afghanistan, a Dutch evacuation operation has been going on for more than 24 hours, which is proceeding with great difficulty, reports Nieuwsuur. In any case, an unknown number of Dutch people are waiting in one bus, near the airport of Kabul. But they are not getting any further, reports the current affairs program.

Nieuwsuur has been in contact with the evacuees since yesterday. The evacuees were called to assemble at a location and then left in a convoy for the airport. At least one bus is still fixed and it is not known whether the other buses have arrived at the airport.

“No one should know that there are many people in here. Anything can happen in Afghanistan. Now someone is coming to me and telling me to turn off my phone,” one of the evacuees told News in a voice message.

The Taliban are now getting on the bus. I can’t really say what’s happening anymore.

On the way they see many Taliban and they come to a stop near the airport. “There are a lot of buses here. The Taliban check papers. It takes a long time. Our bus is at the very back of the line. There are Taliban everywhere. There is no guidance. There are also no Dutch soldiers.”
