Raab expresses Britain’s gratitude for the UAE’s support in the evacuations from Afghanistan

Raab wrote in a tweet on Twitter that thousands of people were evacuated from Afghanistan to Britain, through airports in the UAE.

The British Foreign Secretary added that the evacuees from Afghanistan included British nationals as well as Afghans at risk.

Earlier, Agence France-Presse revealed that the UAE is the second country in the world, after the United States, in terms of the number of people it has evacuated from Afghanistan, after the Taliban took control of the capital, Kabul.

According to the newspaper, “The National”, the UAE, which came second in the classification, helped to evacuate more than 20 thousand people who left Afghanistan from Kabul airport.
