Yeltsin Jacques returned to reach the highest place on the podium at the Paralympics in Tokyo (Japan). On Monday night (30), at the Estádio Olímpico, he won the 1500 meters (m) of the T11 class (for people with visual impairments) with a time of 3min57s60, and secured the world record of the race.

The achievement of the athlete who was born in Campo Grande (Mato Grosso do Sul) had a special meaning, as with it Brazil secured the hundredth gold in its history in editions of Paralympic Games. please note that Yeltsin had already achieved another gold in Japan, in the 5000 m race of the T11 class.
In this Monday’s event, the silver medal went to the Japanese Shynia Wada (4min05s27) and the bronze went to Fedor Rudakov (4min05s55), from the Russian Paralympic Committee.
