On September 28, the DPRK launched a new ballistic missile with a hypersonic warhead, which is similar to the Pershing-2 missile warhead. In the Hwasong-8 rocket, for the first time in North Korea, a new fuel storage technology and a controlled gliding hypersonic warhead were used.
The DPRK’s Central Telegraph Agency (CTAC) said the missile was the first North Korea to use amputated liquid fuel storage. This technology ensures long-term maintenance of the missile on alert.
