From this Thursday (30th), France started to demand the so-called health passport for young people between 12 and 17 years old, a document that was already required for people over 18 years old since July 1st.

To enter a number of places, such as bars, restaurants, gyms and public transport, it is mandatory to present proof of vaccination, a negative Covid-19 test for at least 48 hours or proof of recent coronavirus contamination.

According to Radio França Internacional, 2/3 of French teenagers are fully vaccinated, but there are difficulties in expanding this rate because part of the population is against the immunization of teenagers and/or the requirement of a health passport – so, unlike adults, young people in this age group will continue to be entitled to reimbursement for PCR tests after October 15th.

For adolescents aged between 12 and 15 years, authorization from at least one parent is required for the vaccine to be applied. Adolescents over 16 years old, on the other hand, can make the decision on their own to be immunized or not.
