A lot of mud had remained in our street after the heavy rainfall of 14 July. Since the outlying area of our municipality in the Mergelland (South Limburg) apparently had no priority for cleaning, I decided to remove a thick layer of sand and mud from the gutter myself.
Busy, I hear two passing cyclists say to each other: “Young boy, you’ll have to work for the municipality.”
