A woman from Arizona, USA, says she went to Walmart for an oil change claims she ended up with a burning car. Nikki Smith claims she barely escaped with her life when her Jeep exploded in a fireball, and luckily she didn’t lose her three-year-old daughter.
Smith told TooFab, an American gossip site, that he took the car to the supercenter last weekend for a routine oil change. She says the only other problem the vehicle had was a leak in the washer reservoir – which she had already fixed at the same Walmart.

The single mother had owned the car for over a year, driving to her two jobs Monday through Friday, no problem…until the oil change. “After I took my car to Walmart, I started noticing that my car was driving weird and acting like it didn’t want to drive,” she said.
She claims that after lifting the hood, she found that the oil cap had not been replaced and had leaked all over the engine. According to the owner, Walmart agreed to return the car, change the oil again and clean up the mess. According to Smith, they even told her that the responsible employee had been fired and that the next oil change would be on the house.
But after she left the premises, she said the car still didn’t look right.
“I had several warning lights on in my car that I had never seen before, it also started to smoke and it wasn’t accelerating more than 30 km/h,” she says.
After contacting Walmart again this time they were told to go to a Service Center for a full diagnosis. She claims she was told they would fix it and pay for the repairs. However, the workshop was closed and she was forced to take the lame car home.
Smith claims that two minutes after parking, a person ran after her to report that smoke was coming out of the car. She says that when they left the car was already on fire, before it exploded. Fortunately, her daughter, who is usually with her everywhere, stayed with her grandmother.
In tears, Nikki posted footage on Instagram as she walked around the wreckage, completely gutted, in the Walmart parking lot. But Nikki’s nightmare was just beginning. She said the manager was completely unsympathetic and said there was nothing he could do. After the tragedy, according to the website, the manager at Walmart was unsympathetic and said there was nothing he could do to help Nikki. Contacted by the site, Walmart submitted the following statement: “We are aware of the situation and will continue to work with the client until the matter is finalized.” Meanwhile, Nikki Smith has created a profile on the crowdfunding dite GoFundMe to help pay rent a car so you can keep working. So far (3/9), it has raised US$ 575 (about R$ 2,978).
