North Korea rejects new US dialogue offer

First modification:

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un accused the United States of not giving up its hostile policies against Pyongyang and said it will not stop its military trials. On the other hand, the UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting to discuss the nuclear situation of the communist country that has reactivated its ballistic tests.

Kim Jong-Un said he is willing to reestablish lines of communication with South Korea, but accused the United States of proposing “front talks” and hiding its hostility against the North.

North Korea cut the hotlines in early August in protest at the joint military maneuvers by South Korea and the United States, just days after reopening them for the first time in a year.

Kim made these statements in the Supreme People’s Assembly, where for the second consecutive day economic, social and national political agenda issues were discussed.

Relations between the two countries, which were activated under the Donald Trump Administration, were interrupted in 2019.

Although the Joe Biden government has repeatedly offered the communist regime an unannounced meeting at any time or place, Kim’s efforts are moving toward a path to establish a wedge between Seoul and Washington; since it seeks that the neighboring country, South Korea, helps it to get out of the agonizing economic sanctions led by the United States.

For its part, a spokesman for the US State Department said in a statement that “North America does not harbor any hostile intent towards the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).”

“Our policy calls for a calibrated and practical approach that seeks serious and sustained diplomacy with the DPRK to achieve tangible progress that increases the security of the United States, our allies, and our forces on the ground.”

“We have neither objective nor reason to provoke South Korea”

The reestablishment of direct cross-border communication lines between the Koreas scheduled for early October “would make the wishes of the Korean people come true for peace between the two nations,” Kim told North Korea’s state news agency KCNA.

However, the North Korean leader continues to accuse South Korea of being “bent on begging for external support and cooperation while crying out for international cooperation in bondage to the United States rather than seeking to resolve issues between the Koreas,” who also added that “no we have neither the objective nor the reason to provoke South Korea or the idea of harming it. “

And, although the United States and its ally South Korea have been trying for years to get North Korea to abandon its nuclear and missile programs in exchange for relief from economic sanctions, the latter does not stop its arms tests.

Military rehearsals continue in a tense environment

A hypersonic glide missile much faster and more difficult to intercept by defense systems has been successfully tested in Pyongyang.

Likewise, South Korea has also begun to allocate large budgets to improve its military capabilities in the face of the threat of its neighbor. This same month, it announced the first successful test of missiles launched from a submarine (SLBM), as well as the presentation of its third submarine capable of loading these projectiles. A technology that few countries have.

North Korea’s ongoing military and nuclear tests have prompted UN Security Council resolutions to ban the ballistic missile program promoted by Kim Jong-Un.

On the most recent evidence, the Security Council scheduled a special closed-door meeting on Thursday at the request of the United States, the United Kingdom and France.

After almost a decade in power, Kim Jong-Un mentioned that North Korea is facing the worst crisis in history due to the Covid-19 pandemic, economic sanctions imposed by the United States and natural disasters.
