In Turkey the man reported missing accidentally joined the gang that was looking for him until he realized it was looking for him.
The case was covered by the British media, including the broadcaster BBC.
The 50-year-old Turkish man had been intoxicated with his friends on Tuesday, as a result of which he got lost in the woods in Bursa province in northwestern Turkey.
The wife and friends contacted the authorities when the husband did not belong at home. A patrol was sent to look for him.
Man accidentally collided with a search patrol and set out to accompany it. The missing was found when rescue workers began shouting his name.
“I’m here,” the man replied.
Rescue workers took a statement from him before police took the man home. The man asked not to be severely punished by the authorities for fear that his father would be angry with him.
According to the BBC, it is not known whether the man was fined.
