On a cruise ship from Germany, almost half of all passengers tested positive for Corona. 178 people are now stuck on the Danube in Vienna.
Vienna / Passau – 178 passengers are currently stuck on a German Danube cruise ship in Austria. A corona cluster had previously developed on board. How this came about and when the crusaders will return home is currently unclear.
The cruise ship is currently anchored with all of its passengers on the Danube in Vienna’s Nussdorf district. This was announced by a spokeswoman for the Vienna crisis team and thus confirmed a contribution from ORF Viennawhich was broadcast on Wednesday evening. Of the 178 passengers, 80 tested positive for the corona virus.

How long the cruise ship has been en route and which corona rules apply there is currently unclear. The ADAC provides information on the current cruise rules on its website: “All travelers returning must be able to present one of the following documents when entering Germany: a current corona test, proof of a complete vaccination or proof of recovery.”

However, certain rules also apply on the ships themselves, as the ADAC reports: “In the meantime, the cruise association Clia, the largest association in the cruise industry, has decided on a general Covid 19 test obligation for the crew and all guests.” The obligation applies to ships 250 passengers.
