Mexico, the leading exporter of medical devices in Latin America

Mexico ranks eighth as a global exporter of devices and the first in Latin America with a market of five billion dollars a year, said the president of the National Association of Health Providers (Anaps) and CEO of Medical Expo, Carlos Alejandro Salazar.

According to the president of the association, the market for medical devices will continue to grow driven by factors such as the aging of the population, an increase in the prevalence of chronic diseases, technological advances, among others, such as the current covid-19 pandemic.

Carlos Alejandro Salazar said that the generation of jobs in this industry represents growth for states such as Baja California, Jalisco, Puebla and the State of Mexico, entities that with their development in the sector are the fundamental axis of this industry.

At a press conference he announced the Second Edition of Medical-Expo 2021, where the industry will be able to participate and find exhibitors that comply with the legal and regulatory requirements of the country and high quality standards to meet the demands of the Mexican market.

The president of the association stressed that The first edition of Medical Expo reported total sales estimated at 17 million pesos46 percent of the exhibitors reported sales closings at a floor of 4.8 million pesos; while the rest closed sales between 1 and 3 million pesos.

For this edition the manager said that 50 million pesos in total sales are expected, of which 8 million were made on the Expo floor.
