The head of “Naftogaz” assessed the conclusion of Germany on the “Nord Stream-2”

The head of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Yuriy Vitrenko, said that the Ministry of Economy of the Federal Republic of Germany did not hold discussions with Kiev on the conclusion on the certification of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. He wrote about this on his page in Facebook

According to him, the German Ministry of Economy and Energy, which provided the German regulator with its recommendations, also published a list of countries with which the relevant consultations were held. “Ukraine is not among these countries. This is very sad, “the head of Naftogaz stressed.

In addition, Vitrenko noted that Ukraine is one of the main transit countries for gas to Europe and could tell why the certification of Nord Stream 2 under current conditions poses a threat to the security of gas supplies to Germany and other countries of the European Union (EU). He stressed that Ukraine has learned this from its own experience and now Gazprom is showing this to the whole of Europe.

Earlier, the Ministry of Economy of the Federal Republic of Germany sent to the Federal Network Agency (regulatory body) an opinion on the certification of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. The department did not see a threat in the Russian pipeline and admitted that it would not pose a threat to gas supplies to Germany and the European Union. In the process of forming the conclusion on the gas pipeline, the department consulted with other EU member states. The German regulator will continue to analyze the compliance of Nord Stream 2 with the legal requirements of the international association. Presumably, certification of the Russian gas pipeline will take about three months. After the regulator makes a decision, it will be sent for consideration to the European Commission, which will have another two months to respond.
