The group Christian Aid Ministries reported on Monday (6) that three of the 17 hostages linked to the organization who were kidnapped in Haiti in October were released.
“We thank God that three more hostages were released last night. Those who have been released are safe and appear to be in a good mood. As in the previous release, we cannot provide the names of the people released, the circumstances of the release or any other details,” the organization said in a statement. Last month, two hostages had been released. Thus, 12 remain at the mercy of the kidnappers.
The group of 17 people, including missionaries and members of their families, was kidnapped by 400 Mawozo, a gang known for attacking religious groups and which asked for US$ 1 million for the release of each of the kidnapped (14 adults and three minors, being 16 US citizens and one Canadian).
Christian Aid Ministries asked for prayers that the others would be released. “Please continue to intercede for those who are still detained as well as those who have been released. We look forward to all hostages being reunited with their loved ones. Thank you for your prayerful support,” he added.
