New Zealand resumes travel without a stone with Australia

The New Zealand minister in charge of monitoring the epidemiological situation of the Coronavirus in the country, Chris Hepkins, said in an e-mail statement that his country will raise its decision to stop travel with Western Australia at noon, Wednesday.
And the “Bloomberg” news agency stated that travel will be resumed – without imposing quarantine measures – from Western Australia to New Zealand, for travelers who have not been described as “contacts” of people infected with the Coronavirus.
The statement added: “For those who have been described as being in close contact, they will have to complete a 14-day self-isolation period, and provide evidence that they passed a negative test for infection with Covid-19, before heading to
New Zealand. “
As Australia moves closer to stamping out domestic infections by closing its international borders to non-residents – unlike a new travel bubble with New Zealand – occasional cases are leaking into society from isolation hotels.
The main labor opposition is calling on Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison to speed up the now slow vaccine rollout process to mitigate such risks.
